Making The Most Of Your Time In Prison - Part 5

I think that’s the deciding factor between these guys and many others: they held onto their dreams. In addition, they had big dreams and goals: ideas that are bigger than they are. They wanted to make a meaningful contribution to society. Isn’t that what’s missing today in our society: a deep down passion and drive? We learn so many facts while in school: what type of rocks are below our feet, what type of clouds are in the sky. However, without passion and a dream, those are nothing more than facts and figures. A burning desire in one’s heart is the driver that allows one to pick oneself up, dust off and try again. Dreams are the bright light at the end of the tunnel showing us the way forward. This is all easy to say now, but when it’s not taught to people from an early age, it doesn’t really sink in. Well that’s my experience. Ideas give people a reason to change. Without a reason to change, there will be no change, and no reason to do anything different. Why don’t we teach this to children as they are growing up, along with the data?
